Short Shifter

Ungelesener Beitrag von Joakim »

Hi all,

Did a great upgrade on my PLUS today, i have installed a Short Shift kit :D
The shifting are shorted by 15%, not much but the feeling when you shift gears are sooooooo much better, more exact, more crisp its awsome 8)

I ordered it from www.apikol.com and its made from original Audi parts, here is a picture, the right on is the original and the left the modified from Apikol:

Go here for a pdf with more pictures and installation instructions :D

Greetings

Wow, how much time does it take to install it?

Do you have to remove the cats?

Was it serious to make the order in the USA, how did you paid it?

How fast was the shipping????

Time and cost

Ungelesener Beitrag von Joakim »

Didnt remove the cats, but its not much room for your tools and hands :?

It took me around 2,5 hours but i did my self and i didnt have a lift, so i guess if you have someone that can help you and you can put your car on a lift so you can stand under it, it will only take about an hour.

Great company to order from very helpful and always quick answers on your questions.

I paid with PayPal, since i was the first outside the states that ordered from them they set up their own PayPal account so i could pay, talk about service

The price are on their homepage they had some discount special when i ordered so it cost 199$ + shipping to Sweden 35$ for 2 kits, delivery time was around 2 weeks.

So what are you waiting for, order now

Thanks Marc!
It looks like I have not missed my turn to be part of the "short shifting" Plus group :-)
Please put me down on your YES fellows list!
Well if your contact does not help you out, and you need someone in the US to deal with stuff.... I have some work to do in Florida this Fall and could give a hand

short shifter from the US

Ungelesener Beitrag von Kristian Kristof »

Finally the short shifter in Plus No. 130 is mounted and working fine. Yes only fine..., since I was a little dissapointed with the final result.
I guess 15% is correct and after all not commiting too much of a difference... Anyway the shifting does come across sportier and the gears do feel more exact and somehow defined. Far from a BMW M series shifter, but again 15% (or so) better than the A6 original.
Guys don't get too exited about this "upgrade" unless you have a very sensitive relation with your right hand :D
