The "newest" is dead...

Ungelesener Beitrag von Eric »

Hi Volks,
The "newest" is dead...
Unfortunately the Timing Belt sliped on my S6+.
One of the camshafts got scratched by the valves, as well as the bottom of one piston. Aparentaly the cylinder has not been damaged, but my mechanic would like to be sure that there´s no damage to the head.
Where can we find specific head and valve dimensions, so we can verify that there's no damage to them? Specially the head...
Thanks a lot for any help...

Hello Volks!
I finally got all the parts needed to put the car back together.
All I´m missing now are the tools to adjust the camshaft.
Can anyone help mw with a link to where I can get the tool kit?

Thanks a lot,

Eric

Hi Volks,

My S6+ is almost alive again.
After a trip to Munchen and 2500 eurps spent in gaskets, Water pump, belts, pulley and all other small parts neede we are about ready to fire the engine once again.
I also had to import the tools to get the job done, but it´s finally almost done.
One thing I´m having a hard time finding is information about the vaccum connections, specially the 4 hoses that come out of the throtle body. One of these hoses was simply closed w/ a screw, so we are not sure it´s actually correct.
It would be very helpfull if anyone could get me a diagram of the vacuum hoses.
Hope to get the Plus going asap...
Regards,
Eric

"The newest" (as far as I know) is back alive!!
It´s not that easy to get info, parts and tools about the Plus... Imagine in Brazil...
After a trip to Germany, and a couple imported boxes... my + is finally bringing me pleasure again... not only bills... eheheh...
Exchanged the end Muffler to hear it´s music a little lauder... It´s turning heads... as any well kept Plus should do...
The final adjustment was made at an autorized dealer in São Paulo... and let me tell ya... It was VERY NICE to see EVERYONE in the shop... turn their heads once the engine was turned on... Priceless...

Hi Martin,
My + is a real PLUS in my garage... Like you said... It only gets out when the sun is shining...
I don´t even take it to the beach... so it doesn´t get in contact with salty air...
I drove 15K km in the last 3 years... It now reads 64K in the odometer...
Real or not??? It´s hard to tell... but it certainly looks real to anyone...
Soon will get a video on youtube and post the link here...

Eric

Hey Eric,

did you buy your PLUS in Brazil?
If you bought it from a collector or a fan, than it is realistic. Perhaps a sole PLUS with low km is sleeping in a collectors garage somewhere, who knows.
And a PLUS is a PLUS in every garage :D

Waiting for the link! ;)

Hi Martin,

I bought my + from Vinicius Djabak. He used the name "the newest" in this very group.
There are a few conversations about this car in the history of the group.
It certainly is not the kind of car u drive everyday in Brazil...
One must have an everyday car, b4 thinking about owning a car like these over here...
Eventually, we have to wait a long period for parts to arrive and clear customs...
Today I´ll take it out of the garage for the first time this week...

I´ll get some pics and a link done soon...

Regards,

Eric
